EASY IDEAS FOR WEEKEND FAMILY FUN

Families sometimes find themselves in a rut. The same old activities every weekend, with nothing extraordinary. When it’s time to shake things up, there are some fun family options here. Childhood is a great time for children and parents, full of activity, learning and laughter.

1. Museums

Whether you choose an art or science museum, there will be fun for the whole family. Museums usually offer programs focused on childhood learning so that children can engage with the works. With their coloring books, audio sets or published descriptions, they will have a lot of fun getting to know artists, works of art, culture, history and / or science. Look for lessons or special activities that may be available.

2. Amusement parks

The thrill and competition in an amusement park can also be a great option for family fun. A good park offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, so everyone is happy. From arcade games to climbing walls and laser tags to carts, mini golf and cages, there is enough entertainment for a whole day of fun. Some amusement parks also offer dining options such as the pizza buffet. Make sure to check the packages to save time and money.

3. Nature trails

Each community has a nature trail or a botanical garden. Many have beautiful walking paths, picnic tables and signs with pictures of plants and animals. The journey could also be turned into a game. The first to indicate a pre-printed list of trees, flowers, butterflies, lizards or local rocks wins! Many communities offer nature trails or state parks. If you’ve already explored one near your home, you can find another one in a nearby city for a day trip.

4. Sports games

Traditional family fun is a game day. No matter what time of year, there is a sport in season. Wear team colors and carry home-made signs to make it even more fun. If you don’t have options for the main league, try a minor league, a local collage or a high school game. They are just as fun and often don’t have the crowd and traffic to get in the way. Of course, you can also choose a place to play together, e.g. B. laser label, blowing cages or bumper cars. Form your own family teams and keep the high score.

5. Camping

Going out is a great way to get in touch with the family. There are always fun camping activities such as hiking, swimming and fishing. Cook dinner around the fire and fry the marshmallows. End the night looking at the stars. If you don’t have a motor home, the tents are relatively inexpensive and a great way to familiarize yourself with camping. Of course, just a few sleeping bags under the starry sky in the back yard!

6. Craftsmanship

Craftsmanship can be fun for the whole family. Make bird houses, garden decorations, candle holders, frames or any number of creative and fun things for your home. They could be gifts for grandparents or friends, or they could be exhibited together in a mini family museum on the mantel. You can find countless craft ideas for all ages online. Some are gender neutral, others may be more fun for boys or girls.

7. Create a game

Let everyone get in touch with their inner Shakespeare! Choose your favorite game or movie and let family members choose the roles they want. Everyone learns their roles, enjoys putting together costumes and props and names the time and place where the curtain opens. You could also have the children act. Better yet, record the comedy and turn it into a successful family film that you can enjoy for years to come. Family fun continues.
